Hace ya mucho tiempo que los videoclips dejaron de ser simples carruseles de planos. Poco a poco los directores y creativos han incorporado más intencionalidad, generando una completa vivencia audiovisual que te hacen desear volver a darle al play. Muchos directores abogan por un mensaje subliminal, dejando así un gran abanico de sentimientos. Otros, sin embargo, se centran en realizar un vídeo en que el mayor logro es crear ‘lo nunca visto’, aquel tipo de vídeo en el que hasta que no visualizas el making of, no comprendes el gran ejercicio de planificación. Y si estamos hablando de este tipo, hay una banda que está a años luz: OK GO.

Creo que esta mañana vamos a disfrutar de unos minutos musicales de la mano de nuestros amigos This is FELO, que se han encargado de realizar el video clip del primer single de la banda francesa Siyyu. Basándose en la tranquilidad de la melodía en la canción, nos hablan a través de la Tierra en diferentes formas, planteándonos un viaje onírico entre espectaculares paisajes y cuerpos anónimos, siempre descubriendo nuevas perspectivas y revelando los misterios que se esconden detrás de los espejos.

“Third Man Records is pleased to share the genius surprise gift they received from their friend MICHEL GONDRY. On his own and without anyone’s knowledge, the legendary filmmaker shot a video for «City Lights,» which he sent them the other night. The video is Gondry’s fifth visual collaboration with The White Stripes. «City Lights» was written for The White Stripes’ GET BEHIND ME SATAN but then forgotten until White revisited the 2005 album for Third Man’s Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue and finished the recording in 2016. The track is the first new, worldwide commercially released song by The White Stripes since 2008”.
