Nuestros amigos Lore&Jun fueron invitados por Animac Festival a impartir un workshop con los estudiantes de ilustración de la EAM. Ellos les contaron sus peripecias sobre la animación experimental, discutieron sobre títulos de crédito, y realizaron varios ejercicios de animación.
Puestos manos a la obra, decidieron crear los títulos de crédito para el Animac 2012, disparando un vídeo sobre los momentos diarios significativos de un ilustrador/animador. Usaron esto como base para que los estudiantes pudieran redibujar los frames al estilo que ellos eligieran. 320 frames fueron redibujados durante dos días y medio.

Our pals of Lore&Jun were invited by Animac Festival to do a workshop with illustration students from EAM. They showed them a lot of experimental animation, discussed movie titles, and did some animation exercises.
Then, they decided to create the Animac 2012‘s festival titles, shooting a video about daily moments of an illustrator/animator. They use it as baseline so that the students could trace the frames with whatever style they chose. 320 frames were drawn during two and a half days.
We like this video and this kind of workshops too.

Un soberbio trabajo de marionetas en un ultra detallado mundo artesanal.

Beast animation is a Belgium company which directs and produces stop motion films for cinema, tv or others platforms. A couple of days ago, I watched the trailer of this amazing stop-motion short film produced by them and directed by Emma De Swaef and Marc James Roels. A superb puppetry work in a high-detailed handcrafted world. I can’t wait to watch the full movie!

Cada vez que la compañía norteamericana de animación Hornet lanza un nuevo proyecto, nos ponemos nerviosos. Somos unos gran fans de su trabajo, especialmente de su rama más artesanal.
Ayer vimos uno de sus últimos trabajos de animación, Colosse. Esta impresionante animaciñón artesanal está dirigida por Yves Geleyn y desarrollada a partir de live action, madera, papel, marionetas y litros de pegamento.

Every time that United States based animation company Hornet release a new project, we become nervous. We’re a big fans of their work, especially the handcrafted ones!
Yesterday we watched one of their latest animation videos, Colosse. This amazing handcrafted animation is directed by Yves Geleyn through mixing live action, wood, paper, puppetry and liters of glue.

Una marioneta, una canción vintage, un fondo continuo y un poco de magia … ¿Que es? una locura de “Beautiful move test not rejected, because we didn’t deliver it“. No pillamos el trabajo, pero disfrutamos mucho del test que hicimos. Realmente no pasa nada, sólo se muestra un poco del mood que pilla todo al añadir un audio curioso del derecho y del revés … Espero que os guste! : )
One puppet, a vintage song, a never ending background and some magic … what’s that? a crazy “Beautiful move test not rejected, because we didn’t deliver it“. We didn’t get the job, but we enjoyed a lot the move test we made. Nothing is happening in the movie, it’s just the mood it get with the music and the backwards audio … Hope you like it! : )
