My First ToothSleet and Snow‘.

Ben Marwood Covering Postal Service

17.03.2011

Me gusta!

Ben Marwood singuing “The district sleeps alone tonight” a cover from the Postal service. He’s drunk and in a bathtub (who hasn’t been drunk in a bathtub?), but the song (and the cover) is still gorgeous! I like!

As-found

7.03.2011

Precioso!

As-found is a project we follow since a long time ago, I think we’ve posted it here before. Images shown as it is … I think you must take a look and let me know how you feel. We all send lots of jpg to the net every day. This is a good chance to see what we are doing. Gorgeous!

“The Image as it is.

As-Found is our creative response to the trillions of images available on the Internet.

The ‘As’ in As-Found stands for the perfection we perceive in these images. These images, as they have been found, are perfect in our eyes, and we want to showcase them here, giving them a new space in which to be contemplated. Showing them in the context of this site gives them new value.

We often choose images for different qualities than those which were intended to be seen. Therefore the creator is often irrelevant.

If the image has been made by a contemporary artist we don’t want to know about it, because images created with multiple interpretations in mind are useless to us.

We think that a found image can match any image produced within the artistic field, in aesthetic, cultural or emotional qualities.

Our tools have become a significant part of the process as we are able to see further, dig deeper, collect faster and see exponentially more.

Finding is creating”.

Muchas gracias Lucas.

SKATEISTAN: TO LIVE AND SKATE KABUL

24.01.2011

Skateistan: To Live And Skate Kabul is a beautifully shot film that follows the lives of a group of young skateboarders in Afghanistan. Operating against the backdrop of war and bleak prospects, the Skateistan charity project is the world’s first co-educational skateboarding school, where a team of international volunteers work with girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 17, an age group largely untouched by other aid programmes.
