Junio ha sido un buen mes. Muchos y muy buenos posts, algunos proyectos interesantes, una visita al MAD09 y un Spot que saldrá muy pronto en antena. ¿Que más se puede pedir? Recopilamos lo mejor de Junio para vosotros, teniendo en cuenta que si lo hiciéramos de nuevo sería diferente. Mi madre siempre dijo que tengo un criterio un poco bolátil. Esperamos que os guste!

June has been a good month. Many and very good posts, some interesting projects, a visit to the MAD09 and a Film that we’ll watch in TV soon. Animales, objetos, sensaciones que necesitan salir hacia la calle, tomarla, plasmarse sobre ella quedan ahora fijos y encerrados. Vienen mutando y buscando su material, dónde estar cómodos, son voraces, necesitan alimentarse de la reacción de quién es mirado por ellos. La inspiración es tan simple y real como el hambre. “I can’t get no satisfaction”

A line that becomes more and more simple but full of expression takes us quietly into Defi’s new fantasy.
EAT is here to spread colors and needs. Overfeed us with nothing. To freeze all moments in front of us. Animals, objects, sensations that desperate need to go out and take on the street, are now fixed and locked up. They are mutating and searching their own materia, where to be comfortable, to be voracious, to feed on the viewer´s reactions. Inspiration is so simple and real as hunger. I can´t get no satisfaction.

Me di unos días, después de pasar por el MAD09, para poder asimilar bien el tema. El viaje, la compañía, las ponencias y la estancia fueron geniales. Unos días en la capital para ver lo que se cuece, lo que se enriquece, y para echar de menos a mi gato y el sofá.
Al señor Wences lo aplaudimos desde aquí, montó un sarao excelente y hay que reconocerle públicamente el exitazo que tuvo, y que se ganó a pulso. Wences, eres un campeón. El próximo año monta una fiesta previa, así nos conoceremos todos antes!
Asistimos a casi todas las conferencias, hubo de todos los gustos y colores, entre las que yo destacaría, sin orden alguno (y sin que se ofendan los que no aparecen!):
A Trevor Jackson, el hombre más feliz del planeta, al que nos gustaría haber oído mas y del que pudimos ver algunos proyectos (no muchos mas que en su web). Si hay que hablar de música y diseño, hay que citarle fijo! Àlex Trochut fue el mas esperado, el mas fotografiado, … por ser el tío con mas nombre de los ponentes. Nos deleitó con su proceso creativo y desmitificó un poco su figura con unas lecciones de savoir fair y de humildad. Trochut mola. Ulises Valencia del Grupo W tenía un jetlag del copón, su conferencia fue una de las que tuvo mas ritmo, contenido y sonrisas. Empezar un negocio con una CPU y un camión para ir a las presentaciones es lo que tiene, te pone en un terreno muy humano.
Las agencias Waskman y La Despensa ofrecieron un par de conferencias divertidas, con proyectos de lo mas curiosos y con argumentos de pura esgrima conceptual. La caña vamos, lo harán todo así?
Johnny kelly, un chico joven con mas talento que todos nosotros juntos, nos enseñó como se trabaja un proyecto. Lo apuntamos todo y estamos reflexionando. Jean-Marc Joseph de BaseMotion nos contó cómo trabajar en el tema del motion y sobrevivir a ello. A Jean-Marc le agradecimos su humildad, de la que también tomamos buena nota (sus proyectos son alucinantes!).
Y dos talentos muy distintos pero muy potentes. El viernes empezamos con la master class de Laura Messeguer. Lo llaman master class desde que Laura empezó a hablar, la tía sabe todo y mas, y mola. Así mismo el viernes lo cerramos con los mas grandes, los que todo el mundo mira, los que salen en todos los libros, Pentagram. Domenic Lippa, uno de los socios, nos dio una clase de historia del diseño y referentes (con poco ritmo) , y todo con mucha verdad.
Esto no es un post patrocinado, ir al MAD nos costó nuestra pasta, y 4 días fuera de casa. A ver si el año que viene vamos de gratis! (no se como coño voy a traducir todo esto!!!).

I spend some days after the MAD09, to assimilate the event. The trip, the friends, the speakers and the motel were excellents. Some days in the capital to see what’s going on, and to miss mi cat and the sofa.
We celebrate Mr Wences work from here, he built up a hardworked and sucessful event. Wences, you’re cool. On next edition you can make a “pre festival party”, and we can know each other before!
We attended almost every conference, there were all colors and tastes. Without any order I would emphasize:
Trebor Jackson, the happiest man on earth, we would have liked to know more from the designer. We could see some projects, not many more than its web. If we need to talk about music and design, he should be one of our references! Alex Trochut was the most expected, the most photographed, … for being the most famous guy of the speakers. We enjoyed her creative process, and tha way he demystifies her figure with a little lesson in humility and savoir faire. Trochut is Cool. Ulises Valencia, from the Grupo W had a great Jetlag. Her conference was the most rithmic, with great contents and lots of smilings. Start a business with a CPU and a truck to go to the presentations is what makes you look human.
The Agencies Waskman and La Despensa where a couple of amusing lectures, showing the most curious projects, with pure “conceptual fencing”. Love it, they do all at hese level?
Johnny Kelly, a young guy with more talent that all of us together, showed us how to work in a project. We took notes and we are all thinking. Jean-Marc Joseph from BaseMotion told us how to work on the “motion” and to survive it. Jean-Marc thank you for your humility, which also took good note (her projects are also amazing!).
At last, two different and powerful talents. On Friday we started with the master class of Laura Messeguer. They call it master class since Laura began to speak, Laura knows everything and more, and is cool. Also on Friday, we close with the largest, the most known in the world, those who apear in all the books, Pentagram. Domenic Lippa, one of the partners, gave us a lesson of design history and references, and all very true.

Lluís Campos fue uno de nuestros estudiantes este año en Elisava. Se ha graduado recientemente con el proyecto “Free Food” (¿como encontrar comida gratis en tu ciudad?).
